We invite you to the Busan Chinatown Special Zone Festival filled with jasmine scent.
Busan Metropolitan City and Shanghai City signed a sister city relationship in 1993. Based on this relationship, ‘Chinatown Street’ has been newly built around the Shanghai Gate, opposite of the Busan Station in Choryang 1dong, Donggu.
Shanghai Street has been called ‘Cheongkwan’ because of the Chinese Jogyeji after the late period of Joseon, ‘Texas Village’ mean liberated streets of U.S. troops after Korea’s independence, and ‘Foreigner Shopping Street’ in the late 80’s as it mainly dealt with Russian sailors and Southeast Asian merchants!
For a place with 100 years of history and, to be more active and reborn as a representative of Busan, together with Korean-Chinese people, a meeting ground of the Korea-China cultural festival has been prepared.
This Chinatown Festival will deliver interesting Chinese cultural experiences to Busan citizens and tourists as well as pride and nostalgia to Chinese people!
With this festival as a motivation, we ask for your warm attention and participation to make a place full of joy and happiness.
