Detailed Description
The Yeongsan painting
located in the Yeondungsa Buddhist Temple is arranged with the Sukgayuerae at
the center of the screen, with the 6th Great Buddhist priest and the four devas
at each side, Halo of Yuerae, and the Annanjonja and Jasupjonja on both sides including
the icons’ of 5 disciples of Buddha and Jaekwanhyung. In 1924, the Monk painter
Hwajeungwon Nakhyeon (玩 虎 洛) participated in the production and the early 20th
century’s representative Yeongnam area’s the Monk painter Wanho’s piece that
was created during his fully active period as a modern piece where the
delicateness stands out and is an important source for our nation’s modern
religious paintings.
